Fun, Fire & Fury

Opening with a flourish of woodwinds and a brass fanfare, Fun, Fire & Fury settles into a landscape of driving eighth notes and whirling melodies passed back and forth between the woodwinds and brass. After a brief dreamy interlude, the driving eighths return and escalate to the fiery & furious ending!

Program Notes

Fun, Fire & Fury one of many pieces written for and dedicated to Michael Kaufman, conductor of the Grand Ledge High School Bands. Mr. Kaufman premiered this and other band pieces of McCarthy's with the Grand Ledges High School Symphonic and Concert bands as well as the High School Symphonic and Concert Bands at The Interlochen Arts Camp.
