Grand Russian Fantasia

This strong, tuneful piece with a distinctly Russian flavor in D major is an ideal selection for young players. The adagio section provides the opportunity to develop legato playing in an expressive manner. The Viola part is also in Violin II, so there is strength in the middle of the orchestra. The piece lays well for the instruments and everyone gets a chance to play lead material.
