Program Notes
A Joyous Homage is a dedicatory work that pays appreciation to Dr. Brad Kent, UIL State Music Director, and Mr. Gabe Musella, Assistant Director of UIL Music. In addition to being outstanding leaders, musicians, and advocates for music education across the great state of Texas, their dear friendship led to the inspiration of the work. Brad and Gabe are strong supporters and encouragers of my passion for composition, so the decision to compose this new work was easy.
A Joyous Homage was premiered on Saturday, January 21, 2023, by the Region VIII high school All-Region Band (Wind Symphony) in Belton, Texas, under the direction of Dr. Brad Kent.
