Mountain Images
Arranger/Composer: J.B. Smith
Item Code: 02710
Publisher: C. Alan Publications
The five movements are not programmatic in a literal sense but are suggestive of the tableaux and natural drama one might encounter in a mountain environment. Although the piece was written to be performed in its complete form without breaks between movements, movements can be extracted or rearranged as deemed appropriate.
Program Notes
Mountain Images was written in the spring of 1984 for Sounding Visions, a percussion and dance group from the School of Creative Arts and Humanities at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. The work was written in collaboration with choreographer Nancy Lamp.
