Steinohrt demonstrated his keen grasp of the keyboard percussion possibilties in his first Two Movements. This work expands on the first, developing timbral ideas among glockenspiel, xylophone, two vibraphones, and four marimbas (optional bass). Contrasting slow and fast movements place technical and musical demands upon all eight players as well as the conductor in creating this challenging work.
